She leans forward with her right arm folded on her lap and her left arm reaching down, barely lifting up the hem of her long, pale purple skirt. This action reveals her right ankle and foot, wearing a cream-colored stocking and white satin mule shoes with pointed toes and silver embroidery. The toe of the shoe tangents with the bottom of the picture. Sorry about that. Because her head is angled down, the triangular shape of her black felt hat is clearly visible. The right side of the upturned brim is almost facing the camera, trimmed with silver scallop-shaped lace. The left brim is angled almost perpendicular to the camera, making it barely visible, but a large black ribbon is visible rising above the edge of the brim. The lace edge of her shift is visible around the neckline of the jacket, creating a squared-off silhouette around the bosom. The top edge of the large pink ribbon around her neck is partially blocked off by her jawline.
